Atone Playlist

Atone Playlist

I love listening to music when I write.  Every writing project has its own playlist and the music “feels” definitely influence the mood of each story.  Here are some of the songs I had on repeat while I wrote Awake: A Fairytale.  You can click here to play the entire Awake Playlist on Grooveshark or just scroll to the bottom of this post. If the song has a video (or a decent video of a live version), I’ve linked the title of the song to it.  Albums are linked to their listing on Amazon.

There were two songs that inspired not just the feeling of Atone, but the actual plot: Fallen by Jennifer Knapp and Goodnight L.A. by Counting Crows.  The song Fallen was especially instrumental in the writing of Atone – I started off every writing session by listening to it and when I couldn’t quite figure out how to un-beast Nicholas it was the lyrics of this song that inspired the eventual plot twist.
